Iris Marlow in a linen apron, holding a basket of herbs

hello there

I'm Iris, and this is my quiet corner of the internet.

Ten years ago I traded a small city apartment for a smaller stone cottage on the edge of a very green village. There was a tangle of nettles where the garden should have been and a woodstove that only worked if you asked it nicely.

I write about what happens between the seed packet and the supper table — the herbs on the windowsill, the shelves that took a year to feel right, the DIY projects I finish and the ones I don't.

31 Essential Botanicals is a slow project. I post when the garden lets me, and I hope you'll read it the same way — with a warm cup of something nearby.

01

Slow living

Fewer, better, and made by hand where I can.

02

Growing things

Herbs, cut flowers, and whatever the birds plant for me.

03

Warm homes

Rooms that welcome mud, dogs, and long conversations.
