Brown Sugar & Rose Body Scrub

Stir together one cup of soft brown sugar, half a cup of melted coconut oil, and a spoonful of raw honey. Crumble in a handful of dried rose petals and a pinch of cinnamon.
Scoop into a wide-mouthed glass jar and keep it in the bathroom, away from steam. In the shower, take a small handful and work it over damp skin in slow, upward circles.
Rinse with warm water — no soap needed afterwards — and step out to skin that feels soft, gently perfumed, and cared for. A jar makes about six weeks of Sunday evenings.

Servings
About 1 1/2 cups
Ingredients
- 1 cup soft brown sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
- 1 handful dried rose petals, lightly crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vitamin E oil
- 8 drops rose or geranium essential oil
- Wide-mouthed glass jar with a lid
Instructions
- 1Melt the coconut oil gently until just liquid, then let it cool slightly.
- 2Tip the brown sugar into a medium bowl and break up any hard clumps.
- 3Pour the melted coconut oil over the sugar and stir until it looks like damp sand.
- 4Add the honey and sweet almond oil and stir until fully combined.
- 5Crumble the dried rose petals between your fingers and fold them in.
- 6Sprinkle in the cinnamon and stir once — it warms the scent without overpowering it.
- 7Add the vitamin E oil and essential oil, then mix a final time.
- 8Spoon into a wide-mouthed glass jar, pressing down lightly to remove air pockets.
- 9Cap and label with the date, then keep it in the bathroom away from steam.
- 10In the shower, take a small handful and work over damp skin in slow, upward circles.
- 11Rinse with warm water — no soap needed afterwards — and pat dry.
Notes
- Use within six weeks; keep water out of the jar to prevent spoiling.
- The floor will be slippery afterwards, so step out carefully.
